It's been about 6 months since the new centre opened, and I was wondering how many people are as disappointed with the affect on the city as I.
It hasn't added anything to the retail centre, and I actually feel it's made things worse -- it was obvious that units would relocate from Castle Mall (which they have).
I can't think of any units that are out and out "new" to the city. I think that there are not enough independants in the centre (presumeably because rents are too high).
I feel the new centre is too disassociated with the rest of the retail core -- in fact, according to figures produced in association with the Government, the site is outside the Retail Core of 2002 (cite: http://www.geofutures.com/online/towncentresfullscreen.html )
Those are just my opinions, but I can find little merit in the centre, certainly now that its effects are starting to be noticeable.
