The museum is full of beautiful and fascinating straw items from around the world. The versatility of straw is shown in marquetry, embroidery, straw stars, Swiss straw lace and dyed straw marquetry. The pictures are often mistaken for oil paintings. Many people are familiar with corn dollies but the term covers a vast selection of creative work. The museum also features some older crafts such as quilling, tatting, beadwork and parchment craft. Courses in all areas of strawwork and other crafts are envisaged.
