Andrew Hanison took over The Unthank Arms in 1986 with the intention of retaining as many of the original Victorian values as possible. By changing very little he revived the original style of public house that dominated the late 19th century.
In recognition of his success our restaurant upstairs has been named in his memory and designed in a style of which he would have approved.
Hanisons continues with the same comprehensive selection of fine food and wine but in a more relaxed atmosphere. There is a bar and lounge primarily for the use of diners.
To allow for your intimate family or business dining experience Hanisons is available for private functions on Monday and Tuesdays. From Wednesday to Sunday enjoy the genuine ambience of one of Norwich's most popular restaurants in the company of like-minded diners.
